How to Embed Substack Signup Form in any Website

September 10, 2023
When growing your newsletter you'll find yourself wanting to capture new signups outside of your Substack landing page. This is often in the context of a personal site or a custom landing page where the newsletter sign up is the primary conversion objective. Whether it’s a custom website or on a platform such as Wordpress, Squarespace, Carrd, Framer, Wix - they often wonder how to integrate their Substack embed.
This is achievable with Substack’s out of the box solution - iFrame Embed. Although, you'll quickly come to realise that Substack’s provided solution lacks the ability to be customised.
This is why I created Custom Substack Embed. This tool gives you the ability to embed a custom styled email form on your site without the headings and watermark Substack’s solution provides.

Although I obviously recommend Custom Substack Embed, I will be taking you through both methods in this guide:

Method 1: Substack API - Custom Substack Embed (Recommended)

  1. Navigate to https://substackapi.com
  1. Choose from the default styles or create a custom style by selecting "Custom".

  1. Change the Substack domain to your own.

  1. Copy and paste the code from the code container into your site where you would like the custom form to display.
    1. 👉
Note: I strongly recommend pasting both script tags (<script>...</script>) just before the closing body tag(</body>).
